Highlights of November Auction at Naxxar
British WWI & WWII Military vehicles
A private collection of WWII vehicles and motorcycles has
been put up for auction that will be held on the
22nd November at 11a.m.
Most vehicles have a local connection and were used during
the Second World War by the British forces here.
Some of the nostalgic vehicles are in a good state while
others require loving restoration.
The auction also includes a few
lots of spare parts of vintage vehicles.
The Austin Utility was bought previously bought from a scrapyard;
It was used by the British Forces during WWII
for personnel movement & medical purposes.
The 4 person Austin was equipped with radio communication;
Its original colour was green.
The Fordson middle weight truck had various uses;
With a petrol engine, it was mainly used by the
British mainly for transport of platoon units.
It is held in high esteem among British Military enthusiasts
for its unique style and use.
It was also stationed in Malta;
its original colour was sand colour,
the traditional Maltese camouflage.
The Bedford middle weight truck was used during the
second world war by the allied forces.
This particular model was used for transport of equipment
& soldiers; it was restored by its previous owner.
The Ford V8, 4 ton truck, 1942 model,
was one of the pioneers
for WWII transport, infact models after the
war where built on the shassy model of this
particular model;
It was used mostly by the British mainly for
transport of soldiers & equipment.
Original traditional colours were green and black.
The British Willis Jeep. This vehicle was stationed
in Malta and has the original frame and
shassy while the engine has been replaced;
It was used mainly by British officers as
there main means of transport during the
Second World War, and also used for radio transmitting.
It was later copied by Ford.
There are 3 well conditioned motorcycles:
a BSA, a Norton and a Mathless together with
cycle frames, engines and other parts.
